Public Works Association of New Jersey Scholarship Application

College Scholarship

Amount:            $3,000

Deadline:        Wednesday April 30, 2008

Field:                All fields of study

Eligibility:           High School seniors who are College bound or Students who are attending a 2 or 4 year accredited College or Technical School and who have not previously received the award.       

Scholarship Requirements

1.    Immediate family members must be an active member, in good standing, with the Public Works Association of New Jersey. (Immediate family consists of Parents, Grandparents, Brother and Sister)

2.    Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of the state of New Jersey.

3.    Applicant must maintain a Grade Point Average of 2.5 in High School or a GPA of 3.0, in College or Technical School. (Please provide proof of GPA)

4.    Submit an essay with application as to the student’s present and future goals, along with how Public Works or other service oriented organizations affected your decision, and how the scholarship money will be used.

5.    Submit two (2) letters of reference or recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor or employer.  Letters from family members will be rejected.

6.    A scholarship award may only be granted once to an applicant.

7.    Scholarship winners and all other Applicants will be notified by mail by Saturday May 31, 2008

 

Public Works Association of New Jersey Scholarship Application

 

Certified Public Works Manager

Amount:         $3,500

Deadline:        Monday April 30, 2007

Field:      Certified Public Works Managers Program (CPWM)

                Offered by Rutgers, the State University

Eligibility: Government employees presently working in the Public      

                  Works field in the State of New Jersey.

Scholarship Requirements

1.    A member, in good standing, of the Public Works Association of New Jersey.

2.    A United States citizen and resident of New Jersey.

3.    Submit a letter for consideration with a brief history of your Public Works career, include any future goals.

4.    Submit two (2) letters of recommendation from PWANJ members currently holding the CPWM designation.

5.  Applicant must pay for the course. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, Applicant will submit paperwork to the Executive Board Treasurer for payment.

6.    The recipient of the award must register for the CPWM program at the beginning of the next available session and complete the program within two (2) years.

7.    A scholarship award may only be granted once to an applicant.

8.    Scholarship winners and all other Applicants will be notified by mail by Thursday May 31, 2007.
